​The Community Calendars are a free service provided by the Municipality of Chatham‑Kent and managed by Community Attraction & Promotion and Economic Development & Tourism Services divisions. By submitting an event for inclusion, organizers agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility for Submission

Submissions will be reviewed and approved based on the following criteria:

  • Events must be submitted by an authorized organizer, promoter, or representative.
  • Events must take place within the boundaries of Chatham-Kent and be open, inclusive, and accessible to the general public.
  • Events should serve residents or visitors and support community engagement, culture, or recreation.
  • Both free and ticketed events are eligible. If there is a fee, the cost must be clearly stated in the event description (e.g., “Tickets start at $X”).
  • Any age restrictions must be clearly indicated in the submission.
  • Each submission must include at least one contact method (phone number, email address, or organization URL), as well as a website or social media link for verification and access to updated information.
To be eligible for placement on the VisitCK.ca calendar, events must meet the Tourism Event Criteria.
 
Ineligible Events

The Municipality will not post events that are:
  
  • Discriminatory toward any individual or group.
  • Political in nature.
  • Religious services or worship gatherings.
  • Recurring or regularly scheduled for-fee and commercial programs or activities (e.g., weekly classes, meetings, sales, or recreational adult/youth sports leagues)
  • In conflict with applicable laws, human rights legislation, Municipal by-laws, or policies.

2. Submission & Approval Process 

  • All event information must be accurate, complete, and submitted through the designated event submission form​.
  • Staff may edit submissions for clarity, accessibility, consistency, and alignment with municipal standards.
  • Approval is discretionary and based on alignment with Special Events, LivingCK and Tourism Event Criteriasafety considerations, and overall calendar objectives.
  • Each submission must include at least one contact method (phone number, email address, or organization URL)
  • A digital footprint (website link or social media link) must be included for an event to be considered for the VisitCK.ca calendar.

If your event takes place on municipal property, please ensure you have completed the Special Events Application on Chatham‑Kent.ca​. Being featured on the calendar does not indicate approval of any required permits that may still be under review.

4. Use of Images & Content

By submitting an event, organizers grant the Municipality of Chatham‑Kent permission to:

  • Publish event details, images, and promotional materials on LivingCK.ca and VisitCK.ca.
  • Edit or format content for accessibility and consistency.

Organizers must ensure they have the rights to share any images or materials submitted.

5. Changes, Cancellations & Updates

  • Organizers are responsible for notifying the Municipality of Chatham‑Kent of any changes or cancellations.
  • The Municipality reserves the right to update or remove listings at any time.

6. Liability

The Municipality of Chatham‑Kent is not responsible for:

  • Event operations, safety, or outcomes
  • Errors or omissions in submitted content
  • Losses incurred due to event changes or cancellations

7. Changes to Policy

From time to time, it may become necessary for the Municipality of Chatham‑Kent to update these Terms. By using the service, you agree that changes may be made without further notice. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
